This weekend was the 21st Hueco Rock Rodeo. @melissaistrong did an incredible job with organizing the event. This year offered a strong field including @jwebxl @ポール・ロビンソン @samdavisphoto Jan Hojer and Sean McColl. It was awesome throwing down with these guys on some hardcore lines. Despite the 80 degree temps, things got sent. Jimmy made the FA of a new line called Sugar Ray (v13), starting on Cour de Leon (v13) and going left. Sammy D followed suit with a 2nd ascent. Sean did Flamingon (v13), Paul sent Naqual (v13), and Jan flashed Scream (v11) in good style. I had a personal best day climbing House of Doom (v14), Sugar Ray (v13), Crown Royal (v13), Indisposed Heroes (v12), 50 Shades of Red (v12), The Ugh (v11), and Scream (v11). I ended up taking the victory, making it my 4th overall. Even though it is a comp, the atmosphere is more like a giant jam session. It is fun to try and do as many boulders as possible, leaving you wrecked by the end of the day.
