First off, let's not hate on each other. I know the internet is a very anonymous place (for most) and hiding behind your iPhone writing nasty comments is easy. A suggestion: before you get ready to post your comment, stop for a second and imagine you're saying this to the persons face, looking them in the eye. Would you still say it? There is far too much hate in the social media world and I like to encourage mature, healthy discussion. Regarding my last post. If you've ever visited this place you'll know it's not in any way a sad space. It's a place where people sit down on the concrete blocks to eat their lunch in the sunshine, to feed the birds, children playing all around. The vibe is loving, remembering, cherishing. It took a few tries to take this picture because there was a class of school children playing hide and seek right next to us, and I wanted a capture with the empty space in the background. Kids were jumping from block to block over my head! In NO way is this disrespectful. I sat here sending love and light. Remembering. Cherishing. Loving. With a smile, yes! Since when has a smile made the world a worse place to live in? Do you really believe that seriousness, sadness and feeling pain is the way to heal this world? Or can kindness, happiness, light and love help us get there? My grandparents grew up in Europe during World War II, I was born a year before the Berlin Wall came down. My name is Hebrew and my best friend in the world is Jewish. Do I really have to specifically tell you I honor this memorial with love? Or do you really think I put my body against this concrete as an act of disrespect? Use your hearts. Remember with love. Smile. It heals.
