We usually post photos of America's beautiful public lands, but tonight we want to share the story of Tara Kurtzbein, Engine Captain for the BLM Idaho Falls District. She was on a fire outside of Mancos, Colorado on a hand crew when she heard what sounded like a kitten. Looking in the black, she found this little baby fawn huddled in the burnt vegetation. After giving the baby deer some water from her water bottle, she was able to turn it over to an elk ranch that nursed it back to health and later released it into Mesa Verde National Park.
