Photo by @pedromcbride. The first story I shot for @ナショナルジオグラフィック Magazine retraced the first African air passage from London to Cape Town. Our aircraft - A replica WWI open-cockpit biplane called the Vickers Vimy (top speed 65 mph) — seen here crossing the #Zambezi River's Victoria Falls in Zambia/ Zimbabwe. Our 58 day journey developed deep a respect for the early #aviators. It also cemented a deep passion for #aerial imagery and the magic of water after witnessing its power and scarcity. Considering commercial flights across Africa take only 10 hours today, I rarely complain on airlines. Lucky to live in the era of jet travel. #progress #exploration @natgeocreative
