My name is Rachel Richardson and I am 17. I trained at The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia for 3 years before joining American Ballet Theater's Studio Company this September. I have competed in Youth America Grand Prix for the past four years and this last June I received the offer from ABT after being awarded the silver medal. I was incredibly amazed and grateful for both the award and the opportunity to move to New York and dance in Studio Company. I love getting to watch ABT's amazing dancers rehearse and perform and I'm so excited to be performing in their Nutcracker! I am inspired by so many different ballet dancers and especially by all of my ballet teachers, to whom I am incredibly appreciative. My dream is to dance in a professional ballet company and I would also love to dance in Europe at some point. I have never had one specific dream company because I have no idea what company would be the best for me! For now I am just enjoying dancing with all of the talented kids in ABT's Studio Company!
