Humbled and honored to be invited again to the #EddieAikau @クイックシルバー event at #WaimeaBay this year. This is a true test of nerves and patience. The event hasn't run in 4 years now so it's a rare day that will hopefully go this year. @shanedorian, @rosswilliamshi and I first received invites about 20yrs ago and had butterflies in our stomachs signing our initial entries. So many memories of #BrockLittle and @tonymoniz and tons of other legends charging when we were kids. Those are fully present in our minds when the whistling and banging on garbage cans on the point starts going off from the onlookers warning and taunting you to charge as sets approach. As #Markfoo famously said (which I wrongly used to think was a #MarvinFoster quote), #EddieWouldGo! Nowhere is that thought more present than in the lineup during a heat at #TheEddie. On a side note, as a #GolfGeek (@golf_geek) it was a very nice great to also receive an invite to the #PebbleBeachProAm today where I've made the cut 2 times in 5 or 6 attempts. I'll see whether I can do it again next February for my Birthday. Which would you rather if you had to choose? Lets just say there's basically zero chance I'll be in Carmel if #Buoy51001 is reading anywhere near 20'/20secs that week. #DoSomething #YouWontGo
