Pedestrians and cars fight for space on the streets early on a rainy morning in Beijing's Central Business District, in front of the iconic China Central Television building famously designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas. Colloquially, Chinese call the building "big pants" -- or erm, something *beep* *beep* ruder. This is @chiyin_sim posting from Beijing, a gargantuan city of perpetual traffic jams and record-busting air pollution, but also charming warrens of ancient alleyways and quiet parks. This week, I try to capture a slice of daily life and reflect upon my love-hate relationship with the Chinese capital, where I've lived for six years.
