Makaha 1984. The first US Amateur Champs I surfed. Paddling out in the finals of the #Menehunes division. @shanedorian (4th place) in the background trying to 'psyche me out' as he said when he sent me this shot. Good friends Keoni Watson (5th) and Alex Cox (6th) were also in this final with Sunshine Awohi (3rd) and Keoni Gouveia (2nd).
