Hello! My name is Erin Brethauer (@erinbrethauer) and I’m a photographer based in Asheville, North Carolina. This week I’m guest hosting the New Yorker feed from Camp Lakey Gap, a camp for people with autism in Black Mountain, NC.
I’ve been photographing at the camp since 2008 while working on a personal project. In July, I spent two weeks taking pictures with my iPhone. You’re going to see a mix of images from a week with 4-10 year old high-functioning kids with autism and a week with adults with autism.
