here's a quick #pictorial for my gradient mermaid tail mani⚓?
1. Prep your nails with base coat and paint on two coats of a light blue. (Note: this mani can be recreated with any color combo, just make sure your base color is the lightest and brightest shade so the scale pattern will stand out)
2. You will need a mesh like material to create the scale effect. I used tule for mine, but you could also use old fishnet stockings or fine netting.
3. Once your base has COMPLETELY dried, wrap your meshed material tightly around the nail.
4. On a makeup sponge, generously paint on your gradient, making sure to blend where the colors meet in the middle. I used a glittery green and navy.
5. Quickly dab on your gradient, making sure to move side to side to blend and get the corners of your nails. If your gradient is sheer, as mine was, you may need more than one coat. If so, just let your first coat for a few seconds and apply the second. But:
?do NOT move the mesh out of place! ? as this would potentially mess up your scales. just be patient, and keep the mesh in place until you can reapply.
6. Gently and carefully clean your cuticles.
7. At this point, you could simply apply topcoat and voila! I decided to accent my mani with pearls, rhinestones and glitter placement✨
