Part 5: One of Orley's greatest traits in which I marveled was the way he did not seem embittered by trials. Not by war. Nor by the death of his eldest son Tom. Nor by the havoc wreaked on his wife by Alzheimer's. When buffeted by the waves of life, Orley was an even keel man. Gracious, funny, and generous to a fault, he represents many of the characteristics I want my own children to have. And so, when our son was born, we gave him the middle name Jones so that - though Orley has no direct male namesake - his legacy might continue in our family.
