15,000 year reindeer drawn on the wall of Las Chimeneas cave, Spain. Shot on assignment for National Geographic Magazine. Yesterday this image generated a lot of controversy on the @ナショナルジオグラフィック feed. Some people objected to the age of the drawings. Let be clear the charcoal in these drawings has been radio carbon dated to 15,000 years bp. Stylistically the images are consistent with other paleolithic art from that time period. They are ancient.
It is shocking how clear they are, like they were only drawn yesterday.
