It’s the idea that imagining the final image in your mind’s eye can help you to anticipate what your subject will do and help you to capture a unique image. This image of Scarlet Ibises flying past the moon is one example of putting that into practice. When I saw the moon in the sky as ibises were flying back to their roosting sites in the Orinoco River delta, I had the idea to get this shot, and put my self into position and started tracking the groups of birds that might pass the moon. After many less successful but interesting frames shared in the carousel, I eventually captured this image.
