First thing’s first, the specs. Our Japan-woven Herringbone Flannel fabrics feature a 6.6oz 100% cotton twill construction with a double brushing process for increased softness and warmth. A yarn-dyed weft creates the base color for each fabric, while undyed warp yarns create contrast and highlight the herringbone weave structure throughout. . Herringbone is one of those perfect designs that leverages function from its form. The fabric’s zig-zagging motif not only adds visual texture, but its primary function is actually about structural integrity. Essentially, its syncopated weave structure evenly distributes stress between threads and increases friction within the fabric. By increasing friction, individual threads bear less of a burden, and the fabric becomes more durable overall. . This exact quality has long made herringbone a favored fabrication method beyond just fabrics. Perhaps most notably, a herringbone brick pattern is used in the internal structure of Brunelleschi’s Duomo in Florence, Italy. Herringbone is also used in brick roads, wooden floors, and other applications that balance elegance with structural integrity. . Most importantly for us, however, is that our Herringbone Flannels function wonderfully as shirt fabrics. Specifically, the fabric’s internal structure also creates a perfect drape. All of that internal friction forces the fabric to fall cohesively, allowing it to wear well on its own or as a layer. . And with such great characteristics, we sourced four rich earth tones that are endlessly wearable, both with other shirts or on their own. Each color is available in our standard button-down model and through our Made To Order program. Please reach out to request swatches #MadeInUSA」11月16日 0時17分 - gitmanvintage
