“Do what you are used to doing” during pregnancy I absolutely love this advice. However take to with a grain of salt for myself. As a professional athlete, we are pushing our physical boundaries to gain an edge all the time.

Normally I try to silence my mind and allow the physical pain to persist, but during pregnancy I listen to my body as there are hormonal and physical changes that makes it hard for me to know what is “good” pain and what is “bad” pain.

I am not trying to get stronger and I am not trying to get fitter…. I am maintaining good conditioning and strength as much as I can. I ALWAYS monitor my heart rate when I do conditioning and it allows me to stay below my threshold where there is a hypothetical risk of very low oxygen saturation. (That helps ME find MY boundary)

I’ve found that periods without training drains me more than it recharges me - so I focus on what I CAN do and make sure to tell myself that being active will be good for me and my baby - both now and later. I still train twice a day most days and it makes me feel good and strong 🤝🙏
