For years, I didn’t eat them because I know they are slightly smart. But then I found that most octopusses served are by-catches. What that effectively means is that you are eating the dumb ones that couldn’t get out of a net. 🤷‍♂️ I also looked into how much heavy metal octopus accumulates. It turns out, not very much, as long as the octopus is from a cleaner part of the ocean. I wouldn’t eat octopus from the Indian Ocean, for instance. To be super clear: if you want to protect your longevity with animal protein and minimize animal death, only eat beef or buffalo. One death will feed you for an entire year.
