Take a walk through Takashi Murakami's @村上隆 major solo show at the Asian Art Museum @asianartmuseum in San Francisco. Titled 'Takashi Murakami: Unfamiliar People - the Swelling of Monsterized Human Ego', the monumental exhibition features over 75 works, including over a dozen that have never been seen before. From NFT creations to works commenting on life after the pandemic and society's increasing entrenchment in the digital world, Murakami presents an evolution of his familiar characters and subject matter that will surprise even his most fervent fans. ⁠

The centerpiece of the show, ‘Judgement Day’, was completed in just a few short weeks, and is an unravelling composition of classical figures, monsters and beings in various states of being ‘monsterized’.⁠
