This chapel in the #CzechRepublic was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique architecture...which includes more than 40,000 skeletons. 💀🦴

#SedlecOssuary traces its roots to the 1200s, when a handful of dirt from Jerusalem scattered in the local cemetery made it a uniquely popular burial site. In the 1600s, the crowded graveyard was exhumed to make room for new building projects; a local woodcarver was later commissioned to craft the skeletons into décor for the chapel, including a chandelier containing at least one of every bone in the human body!
