Photos 1-3: One Vanderbilt is my vote for the best view of NYC. It has the best view of the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building, which you can find on the east side of the building. It’s also got several ways to see the view— the mirror room, the glass box, the glass elevator, etc so there is a lot to do once you get to the top. Photos 4-5: We loved going to the top of the Empire State Building, especially since there is a ton of NYC nostalgia in their newly built museum. We also spent the extra money to go to the top of the spire, which felt super special because only a few people can go to the very top at a time. But you know what the view is missing? The Empire State Building. Photos 6-7: Top of the Rock is the quintessential view of the city (a view that you’ll recognize from a lot of movies), with the iconic viewfinders, and I love that you can see both the Southern view of the city with the ESB and the northern view which includes Central Park, but the “experience” to get to the top feels like it needs an update. Photos 8-9: The Edge is cool with its triangular glass balcony, and if you are willing to wait in line for the corner shot, you will get a great photo, but you can’t see a lot of the iconic NYC buildings from that vantage point on the west side. Photo 10) One World Trade is the highest vantage point in the city, and you see all of the Island of Manhattan sprawling out before you, with an up-close view of the downtown skyline and the ESB in the distance. Its also got a great view of all the bridges. It was cloudy the day we went so i didn’t get the best pictures. But the part that really got me was the film that plays once you reach the top.
