This is the second year we’ve had Yom Kippur break fast at our apartment and I think it might be my favorite holiday to host. There is almost no cooking. Only “sourcing.” And Mike takes his sourcing very seriously. He likes bagels from Essa, babka from Moishe’s (that’s the most important one, you should never buy pre-packaged babka), smoked fish from Russ & Daughters, except the white fish salad which must come from Bagel Boss because it’s the only one he has found that does “chunky style.” Noodle kugel is from our cousin Robyn. That one has to be made at home and she makes it best. Oh! And he gets his mallomars from Costco. They are an important part of the meal! On another note, it was Mazzy’s first time fasting. She took it very seriously and made it the whole day. I was shocked! Best bagel she ever ate in her life. I hope all my Jewish followers had a good fast!
