“My goal was to start out from my home and travel around the Shinetsu Trail back to my home: 175 kilometers (109 miles) with a cumulative elevation gain of 8,000 meters (26,246 feet).
It would be the perfect way to expand my daily playground. We called it "Door to Door."
The longest distance I had ever run was 130 kilometers, so I was a bit nervous about tackling an unknown distance. But I still felt a lightness. I get excited by the process of exploring questions that have no answers.
I left my house at 4:00 in the morning and returned 35 hours and 37 minutes later, filled with a sense of relief and a newfound love for my backyard.”
