How far would you go to get attention for your work?

Some fashion designers do it by being as absurd as possible, while others do it with noise. But until this season, no one had done it with the help of a notorious society grifter and fake German heiress currently under house arrest.

On Monday, Anna Delvey (real name Anna Sorokin), who became famous for conning a swath of New York rich, was a co-host of the fashion show debut of Shao, a genderless suiting-meets-streetwear-meets-corsetry label founded by Shao Yang.

And she didn’t just lend her (fake) name on the invitation: She lent her address on it, too, as the event took place at her walk-up in East Village.

But of all places, why host it on @theannadelvey’s rooftop? Read @vvfriedman’s review and go inside the show at the link in our bio. Photos by @rebeccasmeyne
