On January 22, 2023, while the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational went XXL, a group of surfing’s big-wave heavy hitters headed to O‘ahu’s outer reefs.

Before first light, the buoy read 27.6 feet at 19 seconds. BIG. Liam Willmott’s usual crew of Kohl Christensen (@deepwatersurf), “Big Ben” Wilkinson (@pitmove) and Ramón Navarro (@surfnavarro) were at the Eddie, so he teamed up with a couple of fellow Aussies, Anthony King (@ajkingi) and Hayden Blair (@haydenblair__), for one hell of a ride.
