My gallery @subliminalprojects is pleased to present The Versus Project IV, an international traveling group exhibition co-curated by the German artist duo Layer Cake (@layercake_hundertmarkhartl), individually known as graffiti veterans Patrick Hartl (@stylefighting) and Christian Hundertmark (@c100atelier). The show challenges the well-known Graffiti rule: never paint over other writers, by inviting the broader graffiti and street art community to do just that. The collaborative works result in layers of each artist's contribution that both blend and highlight their personal styles.⁠

This show concept is very appealing to me not only because I love Layer Cake’s art and collaborating with other artists, but also because Layer Cake’s approach harnesses the charm of what organically and chaotically happens to art on the streets as weather and other forces degrade/evolve the original creation.⁠

To kick off the reception the gallery will host a special Artist Talk at 6:15 PM with Layer Cake, featuring @chaz_bojorquez and myself, moderated by Steven P.
