Everything is ready for the Venice Film Festival 2023, which this year celebrates its 80th edition with an exceptional programme, despite a thousand uncertainties dictated by the American actors' union strike.
Directed by Alberto Barbera, this Festival will see the long-awaited return of Sofia Coppola with Priscilla (Jacob Elordi plays Elvis 💘) but also Woody Allen and Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos.
Not much is yet known about the actors present but rumours are circulating about the presence of Emma Stone, Jessica Chastain and Adam Driver. And then Liliana Cavani , the 90-year-old director from Modena who will receive the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement - an award that will also be given to Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Chiu-wai - and who will be starring out of competition with his new film The Order of Time.
Pierfrancesco Favino, star of the opening film 'Comandante' by Edoardo de Angelis, will also be present. Damien Chazelle will be the President of the Jury of the Festival's Official Competition, while the godmother will be Caterina Murino from Wednesday 30 August 2023 until the Closing Ceremony on Saturday 9 September.
