In Texas where he grew up, Rodriguez learned to fish without fancy gear or vast landscapes as the backdrop. Family and community were always present in his outdoor experiences. His love for the outdoors was solidified alongside his Latinx community and during family outings. Wading for Change shows how passion for the outdoors can blossom through community, regardless of economic status, location, or skin color. The film was recently selected by the National Geographic Short Film Showcase and premiered on National Geographic's YouTube page on August 16.
