O pessoal da Pelé Foundation vasculhou algumas fotos antigas e encontrou essa rara imagem do Rei depois de um amistoso contra o @レアル・マドリード. Pelé sempre teve muita admiração pelo clube madrilenho, e inclusive recebeu muitas propostas para jogar com eles. Em entrevista, ele disse: “As pessoas que conhecem a história do futebol sabem que o Santos viajou muitas vezes para a Europa e não apenas isso. Sabem que venceu muitas vezes as grandes equipes da época. Não acredito que precisava jogar na Europa para provar alguma coisa. O futebol é muito diferente hoje. De qualquer forma, tive ofertas da Europa e preferi ficar em casa (...) Teria sido incrível jogar no Real, com tanta história… Mas não me arrependo de ter ficado e feito minha carreira no Santos”.
