Not a day goes by where I don’t stop for at least 1 second and say “what the fuck is my life?” STILL - because of all the things that have happened since this record came out. you already know I’m *that bitch* so I’ll just say - the fact that our first ever record turns 13 the day before my first ever SOLO record drops (which was not intentional!) - just feels like a little wink from the universe that I’ve done something right. I trusted myself then to drop out of college and start a band, and I trust myself now that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. Crazy For You was never meant to be what it became. I was just a 22 year old lovesick girl writing songs in her bedroom, playing music with her friend. It changed my entire life. I still don’t fully understand why it resonated with people the way it did - all I did was write about how I felt. I’m glad you connected. And continue to. I’m so grateful. On the eve of a brand new chapter of my life, I look at the little girl in all the photos from this era and I want to scoop her up and hug her and tell her everything is going to be ok. More than ok. More than fine. She’s created such a big life for herself and she made it through the wilderness of all the messiness that came with success at 22 years old. I’m so proud of her.
