@ramirotorrents —Patagonia is a large, dry plateau in the southern part of mainland Argentina. It covers an enormous area of about 260,000 square miles (673,000 square kilometers) and is mostly made up of steppe and desert landscapes. Patagonia stretches from latitude 37° to 51° S in the south.

The plateau is surrounded by natural features: the Patagonian Andes to the west, the Colorado River to the north (except for the northern part that extends into the Andean borderlands), the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Strait of Magellan to the south. Sometimes, the region further south of the strait, called Tierra del Fuego, is also considered part of Patagonia. Tierra del Fuego is divided between Argentina and Chile.
