Farewell to icon Jane Birkin. Muse, antidiva and face of a cinema of yesteryear. Together with Serge Gainsbourg they formed the most iconic and scandalous couple of the 1970s, thanks in part to the unforgettable 1969 duet "Je t'aime... moi non plus." The Hermès maison bag that bears her name has always been an anecdote that somehow amused her. It seems that in 1984, during a flight from Paris to London, where Jean-Louis Dumas, the fashion house's designer, was also traveling, she opened her Hermès bag from which several items fell out. Dumas then took the bag and returned it to her a few weeks later, with the addition of a pocket - which later became an indispensable part. A prototype was then made especially for the actress, renamed "Birkin."
