Photo by @popvallez_birds: "This was shot in Palo Alto, CA. My wife, daughter, and I had been out early to specifically photograph the northern harrier owls in the area. We thought we could catch them as they hunted for their breakfast. At first, we didn't see much. It was actually pretty quiet out. All of a sudden, the sun appeared from behind the clouds and a female (mother) northern harrier made an appearance! She flew right into the sunlight and put on a show for us. In the background, there was a mix of buildings and large trees. Luckily, she chose to perform in front of a bright and golden tree. It was the perfect scene and I was more than happy to be in the right place at the right time. I knew I had the shot as soon as I captured it. It never gets old!" #ShotOnCanon
