On devine à l’arrière-plan une pièce chargée d’ornements et de tapisseries. Un mascaron apparaît au-dessus de son épaule droite. - 📍Ne manquez pas l’occasion d’admirer ce chef-d’œuvre, qui voisine jusqu’au 8 janvier 2024 avec une autre œuvre majeure du maître : la Pietà commandée dans les années 1530 par Anne de Montmorency pour son château d’Écouen. ∴ 🌍 Did you know that a second painting by Rosso Fiorentino is currently hanging in the Grande Galerie? - 🕰️ On loan from the Museo di Capodimonte as part of the « Naples in Paris » exhibition, this portrait of a young man was painted by the Italian master in the late 1520s, shortly before his departure for Paris at the invitation of Francis I (1530). - 👀 The young man sits casually on the corner of a table, next to an ornate mantelpiece, while the light streaming in from the left reveals only part of his face. In the background, we can make out a room full of ornaments and tapestries.
