Plastic pollution is among the biggest threats to Australia’s unique wildlife, and sadly, we are treating more and more animals that have been impacted by rubbish in our Taronga Wildlife Hospitals including marine turtles. The majority of litter comes from items designed to be used just once. Tossed away in a matter of seconds, things like plastic bottles take over 400 years to break down. They can end up in our oceans and waterways where they entangle, choke, or be ingested by wildlife. You can be a part of the solution by refusing single-use plastics and choosing to reuse instead!
