Ax-2 — the second all-private astronaut mission — is on its way to the space station as the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket with the Dragon Freedom crew ship attached successfully launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center today at 5:37 p.m. EDT.

Former NASA astronaut and Ax-2 Commander Peggy Whitson will lead Pilot John Shoffner and Mission Specialists Ali Alqarni and Rayyanah Barnawi on their way to the station where they’ll dock tomorrow, May 22, at 9:16 a.m. EDT.
