森美術館さんのインスタグラム写真 - (森美術館Instagram)「✓「ワールド・クラスルーム」セクションのご紹介「哲学」生きることや世界の真理、普遍性を探究する哲学の分野は、古くから美術と非常に深い関係にありました。人間が生まれ、生き、そして死ぬということの全てに哲学は関係し、それは美術も同様です。また、どちらも人生や世界の根本原理を解き明かそうとし、定まった答えのない問いに取り組み続けるという点も共通しています。本セクションでは、明滅するLEDのカウンターによって仏教的な死生観をあらわす宮島達男、ものの存在や周囲との関係性を追求してきた李禹煥（リ・ウファン）、そして奈良美智の祈りをささげているかのような少女を描いた絵画などを展示します。時間、自然、死後の世界、そこに「在る」ということ、そして信仰や救済といったテーマをもつ作品は、それぞれのアーティストが世界をどのように観察し、捉え、そして表現するのかを見せてくれるでしょう。 PHILOSOPHY Exploring what it means to be alive, and the truths and universalities of this world, philosophy has long been intimately connected to art. Philosophy relates to everything about the way human beings are born, live, and die, and the same can be said for artistic endeavor. Both attempt to elucidate the fundamental principles of life and the wider world, and doggedly tackle questions for which there are no fixed answers. This section includes the work of Miyajima Tatsuo, whose blinking LED counter expresses a Buddhist view of life and death; Lee Ufan, who explores the existence of things and their relationship with their surroundings; and a painting by Nara Yoshitomo of a young girl seemingly at prayer.
