Video by @jonbetzfilms | Last summer, while on an expedition dive in remote northeastern Canada, our @natgeopristineseas team was mesmerized by the graceful movements of Clione limacine, also known as sea angels or sea butterflies. This beautiful sight was filmed in the Hudson Bay’s Ottawa Islands, what the Nunavik Inuit call the Arqvilliit, part of the Nunavik marine region. Here, local Inuit communities are working to create an Indigenous protected and conserved area. It was the first time the underwater world in this area had been explored.
