Today, Join UNICEF and I during World Immunization Week, as we raise awareness about the critical importance of childhood vaccinations. The impact of the pandemic has been devastating, with 67 million children worldwide missing out on life-saving vaccines.

✨ UNICEF supplies vaccines for 45% of the world’s children, and global vaccination campaigns led by UNICEF and WHO have successfully eradicated smallpox and two out of the three types of polio.

✨ The drop in vaccination rates is a direct result of COVID-19. Lockdowns, supply constraints, and stretched healthcare systems have hindered normal immunization programs from reaching all children in need.

It is crucial that we encourage our communities and governments to take action now to reach these vulnerable children. No child should suffer or die because they missed a simple vaccine. We cannot afford to let diseases make a comeback due to the pandemic.
