They were two Red Cross hospital hut staff who served in France during World War I. The Walsh sisters worked directly with soldiers and would care for and comfort the ill and wounded who were brought into their hospital hut. The sisters were so passionate and committed to their mission work, they even decorated their hut in yellow and blue and served sandwiches, pastries and hot chocolate to the recovering soldiers.
