Only the 2nd time in my 20 years of running I’ve had to pull out of a race and the last one was a mile in 2013 when I had glandular fever. Woke up at 5.45am feeling unwell this morning after a really broken night with Azaliah (only had 3 hours sleep so was one of the worse for a while) and vomited in my warm up from the nausea. I tried to remain positive but even though fitness wise I felt great, the nausea/ headache started to ramp up even more when I was running and I had to stop and vomit on the side of the road at around 2km in and then carried back on running and still felt sick before stopping to vomit even more at 3.3km where I chucked up so much I don’t think I had anything left in me. So I didn’t think I should carry on and had to walk back to the start 😔 So disappointing after feeling good in training lately and being so excited for this event. I am however so proud of everyone else for racing so well though! Well done to my sister @rachelcottle93 for completing her first ever 10km race! Yay another runner in the family! Hope to do another 10km race soon. Edit: don't worry it was not a tummy bug or anything contagious. I do have a history of nausea (HG in pregnancy/ motion sickness/ nausea when I'm really tired etc) and it was just from the lack of sleep that I was sick so I knew I wasn't putting others at risk.」4月16日 7時29分
