Le Christ nimbé sort de son sarcophage en écartant son linceul et en s'appuyant sur la croix à longue hampe. Deux gardes armés sont endormis au pied du sarcophage et deux anges nimbés entourent la scène. - 🕰️ Également nommée armilla - mot évoquant un bracelet d'apparat en forme de coque porté à l'épaule -, l’œuvre proviendrait, comme son pendant conservé au Germanisches National Museum de Nuremberg qui représente la Crucifixion, de la tombe du prince André Bogoloubsky, grand-duc de Vladimir et de Souzdal en Russie mort en 1174. Il les aurait reçus en cadeau de l'empereur Frédéric Barberousse.
