Exécutées entre 1365 et 1380, elles sont d’autant plus importantes qu’elles ont appartenu au décor du Louvre, figurant vraisemblablement à la façade de l'entrée orientale détruite vers 1658-1660. - 🕰️ Leur histoire complexe a entraîné des dommages concernant notamment les bras et les attributs des souverains. Ces dégradations ont été causées non seulement par le vandalisme, mais aussi par la méconnaissance de leur origine. - ✍️ Leur restauration, menée avec le @c2rmf, vient de s’achever. Ce travail a permis de redonner leur stabilité aux deux statues. Puis, le nettoyage a permis de leur redonner un aspect plus proche de leur état originel, plus lisible et plus harmonieux.
