In the UK, advertising didn’t appear until June 1973. Back on 3rd February this year, Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the album with a new 50th Anniversary Legacy Edition. All things considered, we feel that celebration was a little premature, but it doesn’t really matter, and neither is it important which is your preferred mix, Bowie’s or Iggy’s. All that really matters is that the record exists. @therealmickrock is responsible for the imagery here. The shot of Bowie and Iggy was taken on 16th July 1972 at the Dorchester Hotel in London. The previous evening Mick caught the debut UK show of Iggy and The Stooges at King’s Cross Cinema and took the shot which became the extraordinarily beautiful cover of Raw Power.
