Listening to insects I’ve never met before. Meeting locals who introduce me to a whole new world. Avoiding humans with cellphones near by… escaping who I once was. Crying when counting the number of real estate developments. Questioning culture appropriation when joining a group of “chanting” meditation. And leaving the room because it starts to itch and feels somewhat wrong for the first time in two decades. Deconstructing belief systems fed by capitalism. Feeling guilty of being part of conformism. Separating spirituality from trends. Realizing my “conscious” prism is just another very very closed box. Understanding critical thinking is as important as an open heart. Blaming Instagram for ruining what once was. Shaming myself for being an active part of it. Returning to my being with a few layers behind. Trying to decondition myself in a highly conditioned environment lately… a touristic Bali who managed to keep its soul because of its loving people and strong culture despite the occidental waves of expats who not only brought their food diet to the island but also consumerism and wellness schemes hidden behind pop spirituality…  Returning (again and again) to where a long journey started 14 years ago. And this time see things clearly. Being aware that nothing is as it seems. Ever. And it’s up to us to keep an open mind and a loving heart. And above all know when to stop to finally grow.
