Week 52: The ad recently pushing me says, "Your life, 4000 weeks as it's 80 yrs in average". What I see in my whole life, including the 1 / 3 as the time for sleep. I have to keep my eyes open.

I was grown as X th weeks when I was a newborn. I grew up recognizing year by year with every spring before I knew it, and I was unaware of each year passing rapidly. Not sure why I didn't calculate, I can easily see that I live in the X th weeks in my life.

The process of making commercial photography making the picture clear and designing the framing / detail, and the documentary one enjoying all the actions, happenings, accepting what I get — I enjoy both and in between, playing back and forth, and now my time eventually passes meaningfully.

I have done away with many RAW files in these years, which I kept stocked for some reasons. Also I take almost one click at one time. Time passes when you check and think without the standard of judging what is good or bad. The time I spent for reviewing, thinking again and again without clear opinions, editing differently... is worth for going out to another place for shooting something new.

How many shutters I will click in the rest of my life? It's not amount to much. Then the camera comes to me that fits from itself, and I see, I now don't need to compare.

1年は52週間。最近よく流れてくる広告に、人生は80年とすると4000週間と書いてある。その3分の1を睡眠に費やしてしまうなら、実際残った時間で何が見れるのだろう。目を開けていなければ見ることもできない。

生まれた時は、生後何週間という数え方だった。（いや、生まれる前もか）いつのまにか春を境に終わりと始まりがくる環境で育ち、気がつけば積み重なる感覚を確かめることなく今をひたすら走っていた。なぜ1度も計算したことなかったのだか。自分が生後何週目かは簡単に算出できるのだが。

撮りたい絵を先にはっきりさせて、その構図、その被写体の細部まで丁寧に作り込む商業写真の撮影プロセスと、現場で起きるすべてのアクションを楽しみながら、得られた絵を受け入れるドキュメンタリーの撮影プロセス。シャッターを切り続けながら、被写体を探しているのか作っているのか、どちらもごちゃ混ぜにしながら、行ったり来たりしながら、気づけば時間が絵とともに積み重なっていくのがとても楽しく、意義のあることのように思える。

この数年で、何のためにかわからない、保険で、素材撮りで、とストックされた同じような見返すこともないRAWファイルを大量に捨てた。撮る時もなるべく集中して1枚だけ切る。見返している間も、時間は進んでいくのだ。撮り直し、確認し、選ぶのに苦労し、エディットしてはまたやり直す。その時間を使って、別の場所に新しい写真を撮りにいく方がいい。

残された時間で、何枚シャッターを切るのかも、もはやたかが知れている。そうすると、撮りたいカメラも決まってくるというもので、なんだ、迷う余地もなくなってくるものだなあと思えてきた。
