The Rio Olympics was the best experience of my sporting career. It feels like they could have been last week, the memories are still so vivid and the emotions so strong. There have been only 3 times in my trampolining where I have been close to giving up, and 2 of those were within the year and a half leading up to the Rio Olympics. There was something within me that wouldn’t allow me to give up 🔥 and I found strength within myself and those closest to me to find ways to keep going and experience the joy this sport brings for a while longer. I was proud of myself for the efforts I was putting in no matter the outcome, knowing I was giving my all to become a better version of myself than I was the day before - as an athlete and a person. I prioritised what meant most in my life and lived by my values every day. I was the most confident I had ever felt going into a competition - not confident in my ability to perform my routine well, but confident in myself that whatever I would perform was going to be the best I could do in that moment (even if it was crash dive onto mat skill one) because I couldn’t have given any more of myself to the preparation. What actually happened, I can feel all over again with all my heart. I managed to perform the best routine I possibly could have in that moment in that Olympic Final. By not giving up, but giving everything and living by my values I not only became an Olympian, on this day 6 years ago, I also became an Olympic Medallist 🥈. I will never forget the moments and emotions where I finished my final routine knowing I couldn’t have performed it any better, seeing my PB scores show up on screen and later finding out I was going to be stood on the podium. I felt like I had finally achieved the potential I had in me and in some sense, I felt complete. Thank you to everyone who helped make these moments happen. ♥️ #olympics #olympian #olympicmedallist #olympicmedalist #olympicmedal #rioolympics #2016olympics #trampolining #trampoline #sport #mindset #sportpsychology #dreamcometrue」8月12日 18時35分 - bryony_page
