Akira update 🤍

It’s been a while since I shared an update of how Akira’s being doing. If you remember, last year she was having a lot of issues with pain, sleeping at night, and separation anxiety after she was sadly attacked and nearly killed by another dog not under control by their pawrent.

Working closely with Akira’s vet and trying many of the strategies you kindly shared had worked with you dog we’ve managed to make Akira’s life as comfy as possible.

I’m going to share what has helped Akira in case it could help yours or a friends dog. The biggest thing has been having Akira in full time care. Basically myself, Amelia, or my parents look after her 24/7 so she is never left alone. Which means Akira gets plenty of adventures and stops her separation anxiety (which she never had before the attack).

Plenty of short walks and time in my parents garden sleeping and playing with Bertie 🐶 This helps keep her active and stimulated without overworking her joints.

Akira is on a high quality plant powered food she loves by @omnipetfood. She takes Tralieve (musculoskeletal pain med), Galliprant (anti-inflammatory med), Xanax at night (anxiety med), and @yumove_uk (joint care).

All these small steps have made the world of difference and Akira is living her final years to her fullest. Akira will be 13 in August 🎉
