What about that medal you got in the marathon for coming in 174948263th place? 🤔🤪 Listen, don’t tussle with me, but hear me out. 😂 Get over the title of the award and let’s talk about the importance putting your best effort forward and not fearing failure. Who defines failure anyway? 🤔 According to the “growth mindset,” children who are applauded for their efforts are more likely to excel at incrementally difficult tasks. They recognize their capacity to grow, and do not shy away from new, difficult tasks. Those that are applauded more for their outcomes than efforts, are less likely to take on challenging tasks and have a fear of failure. I’m not saying don’t hold your child accountable if they didn’t try their best, but is acknowledging THEIR BEST effort that bad?
