Happy 150th to the National Fish Hatchery System!

Every year, the National Fish Hatchery System raises and stocks over 110 million fish to support the recovery and restoration of imperiled species, recreational fishing, and Tribal subsistence fisheries.

Today 71 @USFWS national fish hatcheries across America raise fish (and other aquatic species like frogs, turtles and mussels) to support conservation.

National fish hatcheries not only provide food and outdoor enjoyment for American families by raising and releasing sport fish - they also advance conservation by raising at risk, threatened, and endangered species.
