Volume 1 features Kai Maetani, an artist who has been taking part in the Residency Program at Tokyo Arts and Space (TOKAS). Normally based in Kyoto and Shiga, Maetani produces photographic and video works, and focused on areas such as the waterfront and its underpasses during his stay in Tokyo. His production and research process were exhibited at TOKAS’ “Open Studio 2021-2022” from Dec. 10-12, 2021. More about this can be found on the TOKAS official website. About Kai Maetani Born in Ehime, Japan in 1988, Maetani received his Master’s in Fine Art from Kyoto University of Art and Design (now Kyoto University of the Arts) in 2013.
