Under the supervision of Mizuki Tanaka, a sento wall painter, and Mari Yamazaki, a manga artist widely known for her work on manga/film "Thermae Romae," the Hachiman-yu bathhouse was transformed into an ancient balaneion bath. Due to a lot of prevention measures in place around the world, @tokyoartsandculture has decided to introduce the city's art museums and exhibits here virtually. *This project has finished. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Arts Council Tokyo sought a wide range of creative and innovative ideas from the public for projects that would have become the core of the cultural programs for the Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL. From a total of 2,436 project proposals submitted from within Japan and overseas, 13 were selected for implementation. The 13 projects were collectively named “Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL Special 13,” and were implemented in sequence towards 2020, when the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 were held.
